Center for
Regional Programs

On-line web based or web enhanced courses are offered as a service to persons desiring individual study delivered primarily by computer.  The on-line course offerings are of the same quality and content as the class offerings on the campus.  The courses are designed and the assignments graded by members of the faculty.  Students select the study of special interest and personal need.  The work represents the student's own efforts to master experiences, assisted by suggestions from the instructor.  Thus, the values of independent thinking are encouraged.

Credits earned by the completion of on-line courses at Arkansas State University may be transferred in the same manner as other credits on transcripts issued by Registrar.  However, it is recommended that students desiring to enroll in on-line courses for the purpose of transfer contact their home institution's Registrar's Office for confirmation before enrolling in a course at ASU.

The enrollment in a course is valid only for the term in which the student is registered.  The student should take this into consideration prior to registration.  Enrollment in an on-line course is conditional until the enrollment has been accepted by the Registrar's Office.  It is the responsibility of the student to make sure he or she is eligible for admission and enrollment at Arkansas State University.  Please follow closely the admission and registration procedures in the following section.

Any person wishing to to enroll in an on-line course at Arkansas State University should

  1. peruse the courses offered this term and make your course selection;
  2. complete the application, registration, and payment processes.

Failure to complete all items will void the enrollment.  Students with fewer than 60 semester hours credit are advised to enroll only in courses numbered 1000 or 2000.  Students having completed 60 or more semester hours credit may, with the proper prerequisites, enroll in any course offered.

Additional information concerning the on-line courses may be obtained from the Center for Regional Programs, Credit Programs, P.O. Box 2260, Arkansas State University, State University, Arkansas 72467.  Telephone  (870) 972-3052.  Students may also e-mail questions to vring@astate.edu.
